Whirlwind

The last 3-4 months have been a complete blur. I thought things would slow down after my best friend's wedding but things have only seemed to pick up from there. November was insane, we moved into our new house and it took us about a month to really get settled. We love our home and couldn't be happier. Moving and Thanksgiving made November fly by and December is always a crazy time. We managed to fit a few cakes into the holiday season:

Retirement Cake
Construction Cake
Birthday boy Andrew

Look Whoo's Two cake
Landon's cake pops

Poinsettia wedding cake

Cookies for Santa

Which takes us right into January. Let's see, what happened in January... oh, right, this happened:

January 2nd, 2012

I'll give you the shorthand version. We traveled to Phoenix, AZ to watch our Cowboys play in the Fiesta Bowl. 18 hours in a car with 5 adults, what better way to start off the new year. Chris and I go into the stadium at 4PM for a quick bathroom break. When we get into the nearly empty stadium we notice the team is walking onto the field. We go down to the front row for a closer look as the team is gathering in a circle for prayer. I snapped this photo:

OSU Cowboys
As I'm standing there watching the team I am thinking to myself 'I just love Mike Gundy, he's such a great coach, he has a great team, he teaches them so much more than just football. I love Mike Gundy. I love OSU football, I love Gundy, I love this team. I love Mike Gundy.' Meanwhile, while I am thinking of my love for Mike, Chris is next to me down on one knee, asking me to marry him. I love Mike Gundy, but I love Chris way more.  I was shocked, overwhelmed, and ecstatic. I said yes. We quickly gathered ourselves so we could go back out and tell everyone the good news. We get to the gate and security says "sorry, there's no re-entry." No re-entry? The game's at 7PM, it's 4:30. Who opens the doors at 4PM for a 7PM game with no re-entry?? Luckily, we were too overjoyed to care that much. We spent the next 2.5 hours calling/texting family and drinking $8 stadium beer.

So, now you're caught up. We managed to fit in a few cakes with all the craziness. And we have lots of orders for the next couple months so be looking for those.
