Our cakes in action!

Quick post before the weekend.
Paula, the bride who requested the red and turquoise wedding cake, sent me pictures from her big day. She had the nicest things to say about us and the cake. I love hearing how much a cake we made was liked and enjoyed. Makes all the hard work and long hours worth it.

Congratulations Paula!

I finished up this cake last night. It was something new and a lot of fun to work on.
Baby Carriage Cake
I love receiving pictures of people enjoying our cakes or of the cakes "in action", so please feel free to send me some if you have any. I'll try and post the ones I get.
Everyone have a great weekend!

Cakes, cupcakes, cake balls and scraps -Oh my!

Red and turquoise wedding cake
Sequoyah graduation cake
Emily's birthday cupcakes
Double chocolate cupcake
Strawberry cream cheese cupcake
Chocolate Oreo cupcake
Strawberry cupcake
Wedding cake balls
My co-workers love when I bring cake scraps! Every cake we bake has to be leveled. Meaning, the top of the cake has to be cut off so that it is level enough for another layer to go on top. I bring the excess to work and people love it. No icing, just cake pieces. I think I need to start selling cake scraps by the bag. Would anyone buy it??
More to come! Cakes in 100+ degree weather!

Jan Ward: Cake extraordinaire

I had a nice vacation with my family last weekend. We went to Branson, MO- a magical, magical place. We ate, drank, shopped, went to Silver Dollar City, and spent lots of quality time together. And we didn't even kill each other. I'd say that's a pretty successful trip!
With me gone, that meant Jan was on her own with cakes. I wasn't worried, she's awesome! She's been doing cakes by herself long before I got involved. Below are some of her masterpeices:

White Wedding cake
                                                                       Dog cake
 Baby Shower
                                                                 Rose Wedding cake
Vegas Wedding Cake (LOVE this one!)
                                                                Noah's Ark shower
 Monkey 1st Birthday
                                                                  Monkey Cupcakes
Pool Party cake
Dr. Suess cake

One fish, two fish cupcakes
Ladybug Birthday cake (Thanks for the help Javada!)
Special thanks to Javada, I've never seen someone so good with (or enough patience for) detailed fondant work. She was a big help on several of the above cakes. She made the people in the pool party cake!
We've got 3 cakes this weekend so those pictures to follow. Everyone have a fun and safe 4th!
